Our Verdict

They offered a similar bonus last year but it was for a $25 Visa rebate rather than a $25 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card. The $200 cards have a purchase fee of $6.95. BB&B codes as home furnishings so you’ll struggle to get a category bonus on this purchase.  Comenity Bank offers a Bed Bath & Beyond card that offers 5% back on purchases at the store. You might as well try to use Ebates in store cash back as well (won’t work with the Comenity Bank card). The rebates can be filed online and you should be able to file both rebates at once.

I’m not sure if you’ll also be able to do this twice at Harmon & Buy Buy Baby as well or not.

Too bad, I got excited for no reason. Is it certain there is going to be no VGC rebate option?

  2. Jinx says:

My local BBB never has VGCs, and when I ask, they have no idea what I’m talking about.

  3. Pauline says:

I participated in the recent promo of buy $100 or more IN 3rd party gift cards to get $10 BBB g.c.. Bought a $100 vgc and a $200 vgc on one receipt. Submitted 2 rebate forms online and 1 came back rejected as a duplicate, because the system read the submission as one purchase of $300 in third party cards instead of 2 purchases of 1 card. After dealing with online chat (don’t bother) and phone rep for rebate center customer service I was approved to get the rebates in the form of 2 $30 vgc. Didn’t argue with that! If you want to do the 2 per household offer without as much hassle following up, I suggest making the purchases on 2 transactions and then submitting them separately. Or, you could hope they combine the offers and give you a better rebate offer, like they did for me.

  4. Eric says:

The Comenity cannot be combined with the Ebates in-store CB as it is a MC and they only allow Visa and Amex to be linked.

Also, you wrote “Harmony” instead of “Harmon”.

  5. Roger B says:

Does BBY sell laudry detergent and /or Dishwashing detergent in order to use the BBY gift card?

  6. Howard says:

I got excited too then realized this is a BBB GC instead of Visa rebate card. Not sure I’ll do it at all.

  7. Gibunono says:

Can you use BBB GC to buy VGC?

  8. JfromOH says:

Will a purchase like this count toward a min spend for Amex? IIRC DoC cautioned about these kinds of purchases; just wanted to see if people knew whether or not these are enforced.

  9. sims says:

am in Birmingham, alabama and our store does NOT have any visa gift card at all when i went last promotion, so i will not even bother to try this time unless i am happen to be nearby.

  10. mny says:

wasn’t the rebate last year a pita ??
the ‘proof of purchase’ was the problem if I remember correctly.

I don’t mind the BBB rebate card as CostPlus World Markets are inside my local BBB store.
The stand alone CostPlus a few miles away, wonder if the BBB gc’s would work in those as well ??

  11. JB says:

I wonder if the US Bank Cash+ card will work with this? I just happened to select Furniture as one of my 5% categories this quarter for the wife, might be nice if I can take advantage as well … 🙂
